it's all about water

Following many speeches about save the planet, to get a life more sustainable, to buy and eat from local farmers, to recycle, to use eco- friendly transportation, to bring your own bag when you go shopping............. we can´t forget about an essential item, the WATER.

I did a research to find out some ideas, projects and manifest about how can we improve this essential item in our lifes.
I found some nice projects focused to develop a self-conscious in the population, crazy ideas to bring clean water for everybody in the world and even guerrilla art about sea levels due to climate change.

i can say that i found some good iniciatives about this! :)
let's check this out!

Join the Pipe

It's a dutch organization that has a dream/ manifest to create a community of tap water drinkers and to build the longest pipe line in the world, long enough to bring drinking water to everyone without it!
For every meter of jointhe pipe.com bottles that you buy, a meter of pipeline will br installed in third world countries where there is no clean drinking water.
How can i join it? The water tap is installed directly to your mains water system.
All the money raised goes to a water-related charities such as Simavi, Water-Right and Akvo.

Tap Project

It was born in New York City, in 2007, based on a simple concept: restaurants would ask their patrons to donate $1 or more for the tap water they usually enjoy for free, and all funds raised would support UNICEF’s efforts to bring clean and accessible water to millions of children around the world.
This probably is the most known water project because it become known for big advertising agencies and corporations! Also, the renowned publicity agency Droga5 is the head of the Tape Project Campaign.

check the campaign now:

Solvatten
Many people in the world lack safe water for drinking.
SOLVATTEN makes unsafe water drinkable by using solar energy, an environmentally-friendly solution for this problem.

The Swedish invention has the purpse to inactivates micro-organisms that cause diarrhoea and disease, producing water which meets the WHO’s Guidelines for Safe Water.

Pelamis Wave
Pelamis Wave Power is the manufacturer of a unique system to generate renewable electricity from ocean waves.

It was the world’s first commercial scale machine to generate electricity into the grid from offshore wave energy and the first to be used in commercial wave farm projects.
Eco- Energy here we goooo!

Boxed Water
The brand starts with the simple idea of creating a new bottled water that is kinder to the environment and gives back a bit ("we found that it shouldn't be bottled at all, but instead, boxed").

Why box? They decide to create a pack simple, sustainable and beautiful.

The Kor Water
Thinking about how many plastic bottle did you already thrown it away? Imagine the whole world doing the same thing? That attitude already brought very bad consequence in the earth!
For that reason, Kor Water came to do a manifest about saving water!

The KOR ONE Hydration Vessel it's a water bottle that is free of bisphenol-A (BPA), a leaching toxin found in polycarbonate bottles.
So, you can reuse many times and your fresh water is always pure and ready for drink!
cheers!

The Watermarks Project

Everybody knows the sea levels are rising due to climate change, but how much could they rise and how quickly?

Watermarks is a public art project that will use a series of large-scale projections at sites across the centre of the city to explore these questions.

Flood level marks will be projected on to the sides of buildings, showing how high water levels could potentially rise as the sea inundates the central, low lying areas of Bristol, UK. environments.

The project aim to encourage debate and creative participation of the audience - taking the project to a new phase beyond the projected flood level marks.
