I'm so proud of myself to see alive that stuff that I'm only used to see on the screen/ internet!
The Park(ing) day is an annual, one-day, global event where artists, activists, and citizens independently but simultaneously temporarily transform metered parking spots into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public parks.
Originally created by Rebar, that also is considered the BEST POPOS MAPPERS of 2009, according to the San Francisco Bay Guardian.
Basically, you can choose any space on the street that cars used park on it, and put your green imagination goes on. Anyone can participate in PARK(ing) Day, though it is strictly a non-commercial project, intended to promote creativity, civic engagement, critical thinking, unscripted social interactions, generosity and play.
I walked on the streets mainly through Valencia St. just to shoot some interesting PARKs over there. So, let's check this out:
Definetly, the major concentration was in front of Ritual Coffee.
A real park was really build up in front of the place.
Grass, Little trees and people chilling in the park(ing) day! cool!
People sitting there, enjoying the rare good weather of san francisco, celebrating the unique day! awesome!
People listening some music, having good times with friends.
This was another instalation also in Valencia St.! Some umbrellas, eco-chairs.
Green Pet Bottle Instalation!
and of course, raponesa green was there too! :)
ahhhh this is sooo san francisco! And I love it so much! <3!
